Welcome to drexelcru.com! We're an international, interdenominational, student-led organization committed to reaching our campus with the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Drexel Cru's vision is to be a community where God grows students in love for: Jesus Christ, the mission of proclaiming His Gospel, and the local church.
As you may know, the mission of Cru as an international organization is “turning lost students into Christ-centered laborers.” At Drexel Cru, through the grace of God, we carry out that mission through our specific vision. “to be a community” – at Drexel Cru, we desire to be a truly loving community. We love because He (Jesus Christ) first loved us. (I John 4:19).
“where God grows students” – We believe that our ministry and any growth we see in students’ lives is only because of the grace of God. We may have events, hold Bible studies, worship together at large group, and be involved in the local church, but ultimately it is God’s grace through those events that allows us to grow. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
“in love for” – We believe that God can change our hearts' desires from pleasing ourselves to pleasing Him: “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you” (Ezekiel 36:26). We desire to see students truly loving Christ, truly loving the Gospel, and truly loving the local church.
“Jesus Christ” – Not enough can be said about Jesus. He is our Creator, Savior, and King. Through His death on the cross and His resurrection, we can now be saved from God’s wrath and brought into God’s glory in Heaven (John 14:6). At Drexel Cru, we want to see Jesus at the center of each student’s life.
“the mission of proclaiming His Gospel” – Drexel Cru focuses on the Gospel, the Good News that Jesus Christ has saved us from our sin. We want to see students not only grow in love for the Gospel, but see God grow them in love for proclaiming the Gospel as well – in other words, telling others about the Gospel. We believe God has called us to do just that (Matthew 28:19-20).
“the local church” – Drexel Cru is a great way to grow in the areas listed above. However, we believe the best place to grow is the local church. We want to see students attend a local church, get involved in a local church, grow through the local church, serve in the local, and love the local church. The local church has many more resources than Cru and many more ways to serve the Kingdom of God. For a Biblical explanation on the importance of church, the book of Acts is an excellent resource.
